Purpllinker: A Timberdoodle Review
A Purpllinker can be used to work on small muscle memory and fine motor skills.. For a child with motor skill difficulties and some developmental delay, this is a great activity to help build and practice these motor skills. Your child can create shapes, alphabet letters, numbers, animals, etc with the Purpllinker.. Using their imagination, your child can form many things using the Purpllinker.
The Purpllinker is the appropriate size for little hands to maneuver and to fit comfortably inside their hands. There is also an easy to understand instruction sheet right inside the packaging. These instructions help to provide ideas for things to create using the Purpllinker.
The Purpllinker is recommended for children ages 3 and up (Grade levels toddler-preK).

How did my daughter like the Purpllinker?
As soon as it came out of the box, she thought it was very cool. She had to start playing with it immediately. At first, she wasn’t too interested in making letters and numbers. She just wanted to explore and create whatever she wanted. Which is great! I completely agree that the Purpllinker is great for working small hand muscles and fine motor skills.
She made numbers..
and Alphabet Letters
In the instruction kit there are instructions on how to make some animals. That is the one area that my daughter struggled with. She had me make it instead. She got a little frustrated at times, but I think this is due to her low muscle tone. I think that if we continue to practice with the Purpllinkers, it will help a lot with strengthening the small muscles in her hands. I also believe it will help with memory skills and her ability to recall how to make certain things.
What I think about the Purpllinkers:
I really like them! I think they are a wonderful educational and theraputic tool for young children. It is so important for young children to work on strengthening their small muscles in their hands. This helps tremendously when it is time for them to work on scissor skills and handwriting. I recommend the first few times your child plays with it, that you assist them. After a few times of playing with them, they should have no problem doing it on their own.
Overall, this is a very fun tool! One that can have many positive impacts on childhood physical and cognitive development.
