A place where I record that we are indeed one egg short of a dozen.
I am 34 years old and have 5 children ranging in age from 10 months to almost 9 years old. I also helped my husband raise his daughters from his first marriage; they are now 22 and 20 years old. I have always homeschooled, but never knew I was going to until it came to sign my oldest two up for preschool. I have a degree in environmental science and met my husband through working in this field. I enjoy reading, knitting, sewing, gardening, tending my chickens, and reading blogs about large families and homeschooling.

Why do you homeschool?
There isn’t enough time or space to explain why we homeschool 😉 Homeschooling is far superior to what my kids would experience in a public school setting, hands down.

Why do you blog?
I started blogging because my Nana lives on the other side of the country and will never get to see her great-grandchildren. This was my way of including her in their lives. As my step-daughters grew up and moved out, they read the blog to stay in touch with what we were doing. And then other relatives joined in. A year and a half ago, my husband’s job was cut and we moved in with his dad, so all my old homeschooling friends became readers too. So the blog has become not only a way to stay in touch with the people we care about, but also a record of our lives. I try to blog every three days at least because I start getting emails asking where I am if I don’t!

Do you have a home business or hobby?
I do a lot of knitting and sewing. I post the good stuff on my blog.
